An Open Letter for all Humanity.
They say that the first time Mr. Abdul Sattar Edhi went out to help someone was when he became absolutely appalled at the state of affairs for the poor around him and went on the streets of his neighbourhood and started begging for the people. He wasn’t a rich man, neither was he qualified in the skills of philanthropy or social services, he was not even presentable. I am wondering what people thought when he did that. Surely many must have taken him for a beggar in the real sense and many must have judged that he had ulterior motives at play.
This was a time when a lot of social services organizations existed. There were notable names in the mix too. Yet he went ahead and did this.
Now when I look back. Perhaps if he would not have done that then, it would have been a big mistake.
We would not have seen Edhi the way we see him today. Neither would one of the world’s strongest social services enterprise exist in the history of this country.
The lesson for me is simple:
Small actions propelled by the power of a PURE and SELFLESS VISION create a momentum that few in this world can really comprehend.
This stands true anywhere in the world.
The only problem with visionary ideas of this nature is that they seldom sustain beyond the visionary.
There are numerous examples of high level social enterprise and Edhi is certainly not the only example. But he is the example of our time.
What about the time when he passes on. How strongly will his vision sustain? What moral checks and balances will work after his death to manage his vision. Will passing on the baton of charge from the visionary to his children be enough to sustain the vision. Can vision really be passed on like a legacy?
My belief and conclusion is that it’s not a sure bet that it will be. It can’t been sustained and the fact that so many in the past created such enterprises at various scales, yet when they themselves passed away, the enterprise either gradually transformed into a commercial version of itself or slowly and gradually died out like it’s founder – is enough to draw conclusions from.
Another fact that appeals to my intellect is why did Edhi use his name?
Was it self gratification he seeks or some other aspect underneath.
After all Red Cross is the biggest social services example in the world yet it does not have a name of a person – or does it?
Red Cross – The blood stained cross of Christ. Right!
It certainly has a derived name, Jesus Christ.
Is it important that social enterprises be driven by names of renown or popular figureheads.
After all the help for humanity is for humanity by humanity.
It does not matter which religion, political association, cast, creed or colour that human appears for help from, as a helping hand or a receiving one.
That distinction does not exist for a true social services enterprise. Yet association seems to do something to propel the ideal.
The association of Jesus propelling Red Cross and the association of Abdul Sattar Edhi propelling Edhi.
In case of Edhi he started with a name that had no legitimacy, no appeal for the common man. Yet in the process of culmination he nurtured that name to take on a life of its own that took its energy from the most humble and sincere character of its founder.
—
I have a vision too. To create a social services enterprise for the humanity with no distinctions or judgements.
An enterprise that is driven by a name that all can associate with in history and is driven by the morality and principles of his character. A character that is accepted and appreciated by all who dwell in his teachings and wisdom from every walk of life.
An enterprise that is so transparent and self accountable that no one can ever pick a finger upon it and an enterprise so sustainable that it outgrows its pioneers, associates and contributors, several generations ahead.
An enterprise named Mushkil Kusha™ – (Problem Solver™).
As a beggar like Edhi. I am now inviting you all to contribute to this vision. I am standing on the roads of my neighbourhood asking you all to trust me with your money and have faith in your goodness and the possibility of it’s infinite continuity.
This enterprise will be a beacon of hope for all humanity unlike ever seen before. It will sustain itself in a way no social services organization has sustained. It will only die away when God wills it to, yet it will have the power and a spirit that people have not witnessed in their lives.
A pure and transparent system of human cultivation driven by humanity itself.
I want to lay the roots of this system in Pakistan. It’s a good soil for the cultivation of a system of humanity driven by practical principles of morality endowed in the teachings and life of a guardian of the force of good.

People don’t look closely enough to see the details and that is where the opportunist deceives and takes gain.
The culprits and culpable parties with proof.

Now notice the ingredients in comparison to the claim of no preservatives and no artificial colours.

A free trade area is always a welcome sigh for any economy. It is a form of economic emancipation where economies inclusively operate to provide value at higher levels.
While it has it’s positives there are aspects of increased competitiveness for businesses and a new balance to be sought. A new pivot where market forces find their center and strengths.
In my view this is a welcome sign. The world needs more borderless interactions that are less regulated at the macro level and more driven by the forces of demand and supply at the core. The challenge in the new landscape would indeed be the survivability of lesser lean players who could face a major windfall if they do not change. In time the impact of this will leverage upon the Asian economies as well, more so if this partnership between Europe and US includes increased manufacturing through automation!
As a 46% collective representation of world GDP coupled with the effects of a recently signed free trade deal between Canada and Europe. This entire order of change represents a near 60% global economic momentum.
Now we need to see its consequent effects from Asia.

Visionary thinkers are rare…
They anticipate needs and markets way ahead of their time, and while this fact justifies upon commercial leaders its the same for social leaders and for all leading positions in life.
Vision drives true and lasting success.
It is imperative to note that the followup successes germinate and grow from the mind of a true visionary, without one, lasting and enduring successes are not possible.
The vision for a network of schools for the impoverished of Pakistan is not an easy one to pursue. As a country, Pakistan is riddled with a multitude of Socio-Economic and developmental challenges. It’s industry is non-innovative and traditional in its scope and nature. The systems of governmental support are undependable and private enterprise runs deep into its economic facets.
In the sheer absence of any significant, sustained and mature government supported welfare activity, private enterprise has been instrumental in building up and supporting the social out-casts.
A pioneering example of this endeavor is Abdul Sattar Edhi. A man who choose to beg for the creation of a visionary social welfare enterprise, that now formulates the core of social support infrastructures in the country all without international donor support and just from the kind pockets of willing Pakistani’s in and out of the country.
A self-sustained private enterprise that over shadows any in its league, across the world.
While Mr. Edhi focused on building emergency shelters, ambulances, morgues and orphanages to privately support the down trodden. Mr. Chhapra has instrumentally focused on the mechanism that produces a newer and better generation of this country, i.e. Quality education of the impoverished plenty. He mobilized his capacity to spread the reach of his foundation’s ( The Citizens Foundation ) borders to the country’s expatriate community and garnered their assistance in building now more than 900 schools across the county where the number continues to climb exponentially.
A pioneering feat of achievement with a structured model of commercial viability and sustainable development.
Each school supports the child with not just tuition but with uniforms and books along with a fleet of trained and experienced women teachers to prepare them for acceptance at the highest levels of educational excellence they should desire and aspire to.
To me that is massive.
It is also notable to see that Mr. Chhapra likes to stay away from the limelight, yet continue to drive a vision that is unrelenting in its collective effort with a continued and infective passion.
I hope and pray that many other pioneering and capable individuals in this country pursue a strong vision to realize true values that the people possess.
Nothing happens without a visionary and innovative mind.
Tradition always needs a new and revived sense of vigor to survive the test of time.
New visions and innovative ideas need to be supported by the economic elite to revive its past glory, that is what all developed nations have done. It’s the only way and the only truest formula to an enduring success, both for the self and for the collective.

It seems a new turn of events is about to happen. The new era to unfold for mankind, yet again, is called ‘Cognitive Computing’.
Soon IBM, the world’s largest maker of super computers is unfolding the power of its super computers in a product that’s been dubbed ‘Watson’. A cloud based cognitive computing platform that will enable instant big data processing for high cognitive outputs for general professionals.
Video Intro on Watson
Video on how Watson Works
This basically means that in layman’s terms people will now be empowered with super computer cognition to deliver their objectives. Their thoughts and projects will be supported with super cognition borrowed from IBM computers over a cloud-based provisioning model.
A whole new world can be conceived with this potential. Good or bad, perhaps only time will tell, best.

It beats me to see that true and original innovation is not something, perhaps, we as a nation are really capable off… If so its very rare.
Basil seeds are something I ate when I was a little toddler and my father used to propagate the great benefits of using them during summers to quell the heat.
A Thai company came up with this drink all the while Basel seeds are just pathetically cheap and easily available in Pakistan yet our brilliant people ‘none’ could think better.
This is an exceptionally original demonstration of value addition at its best… When I mentioned this to the shop keeper who was selling this for PKR 100/- per bottle, like hot cakes, he said “sir our people can only copy, not invent”.
Sad to say and experience that what I find when I meet people and exchange ideas is superb critique alone. There is no constructive thought even at the highest echelons, to propel ideas and support new initiative if that benefits and uplifts the other guy and not themselves.
We need to change this negative attitude in our people’s minds – or else progress is harder to come by even over next few decades.
